The customer contacted us to handle an emergency water damage mitigation response in their kitchen. The water loss was caused by a leak originating from the dishwasher supply line located underneath the kitchen sink cabinet. The escaped water pooled inside the wooden cabinet base, causing the semi-porous wood structure to warp and degrade, before seeping outward across the surrounding tiled kitchen floor.
We provided a complete targeted water extraction, sanitisation, and structural drying solution restricted to the kitchen area. Our team cleared out the under-sink cabinetry, removed the internal shelving sliders, and thoroughly treated the water-logged wooden base and back drywall with commercial-grade antimicrobial biocides to prevent potential mold nesting. To address the moisture that had migrated into the surrounding structures, we deployed two high-velocity Phoenix axial air movers directly on the stone tile flooring. This specialized air movement configuration was focused across the cabinet bases, dishwasher threshold, and kitchen drawers to accelerate thermal evaporation, successfully returning the kitchen's substrates to safe, dry baseline conditions.
