The customer contacted us to handle a water damage mitigation response that originated in a tiled bathroom and multi-directionally leaked out into the adjacent living areas. The escaped water seeped beneath the doorway threshold, directly tracking into the premium engineered hardwood flooring. Because trapped moisture under hardwood can cause immediate cupping, structural crowning, and subfloor failure, the client required professional moisture testing, hidden migration mapping, and immediate industrial drying equipment setup.
We provided a complete targeted water extraction, structural diagnostics, and "dry-in-place" mitigation solution. Our team utilized a professional Delmhorst pin-style moisture meter to take precise core readings of the hardwood planks, confirming a stabilized baseline reading of 8.7% after tracing the damp boundaries near the bathroom door threshold. To address the source area, we deployed a high-capacity Phoenix DryMAX XL LGR dehumidifier directly on the bathroom tile floor, running a continuous drainage purge line to manage the ambient relative humidity. Finally, we treated the affected wall transitions with commercial antimicrobial agents and kept the structural drying layout operating continuously, successfully extracting the trapped moisture and preserving the hardwood flooring from secondary cupping damage.
