The customer contacted us to handle the structural drying and mitigation phase of a water loss in their kitchen. The water damage originated from a leak in the drain line running under the kitchen sink. Although the plumbing source of the loss had already been corrected prior to our arrival, the escaped water had migrated underneath the top flooring, heavily saturating the subfloor assembly and threatening the structural integrity of the surrounding custom cabinetry and appliances.
We provided a comprehensive floor-stripping, sanitisation, and high-velocity structural drying solution. Our team removed the compromised top flooring layer to fully expose the wet concrete subfloor, revealing the exact water migration pattern stretching between the kitchen island and the oven. We treated the concrete substrate and the lower toe-kicks of the dark wooden cabinetry with commercial-grade antimicrobial agents to prevent potential mould development. Finally, we deployed multiple industrial Phoenix axial air movers and a commercial dehumidifier directly over the saturated concrete zone to accelerate thermal evaporation, successfully drying the subfloor and protecting the cabinetry from secondary water damage.
