The customer contacted us to conduct a comprehensive post-loss moisture assessment and initial layout documentation across an apartment unit following a water damage incident. The water migration multi-directionally impacted various rooms, including the living area with laminate flooring, a carpeted bedroom with a walk-in closet, and an adjacent tiled bathroom. Professional diagnostics and thorough structural charting were required to inspect the subfloor assemblies, classify material porosity types, and prepare an accurate remediation and equipment placement blueprint.
We provided an apartment-wide moisture mapping and diagnostic mitigation solution to secure all affected zones. Our team catalogued the apartment's layout, performing non-invasive moisture readings along the transition boundaries between the semi-porous wood laminate floors in the main living space, the ceramic tiled bathroom floor surrounding the toilet and vanity, and the carpeted master bedroom and closet. We evaluated all potential secondary damage variables, carefully inspecting the lower drywall baseboards and verifying that contents, bedding, and stored clothing items were isolated to prevent cross-contamination or active microbial wicking. Finally, we compiled a structured diagnostic log detailing material conditions across all rooms, delivering a precise drying plan to return the apartment's diverse flooring types and structural substrates to safe baseline standards.
