The customer contacted us to handle an emergency category 3 water damage event (black water/sewage) caused by a toilet overflow in their bathroom. The category of loss led to extensive, hidden moisture behind the fixtures, resulting in severe and rapid mould growth across the drywall, flooring, and internal wall cavities.
Our team provided an immediate, structured biohazard and mold remediation solution to safely restore the bathroom. Our team established strict containment protocols to prevent cross-contamination and carefully extracted the contaminated sewage water. We safely demolished and removed the heavily impacted, non-salvageable materials, including the lower sections of the drywall, affected insulation, and the vanity unit. Following the removal of these materials, we treated the exposed timber studs, subflooring, and surrounding concrete with professional-grade antimicrobial and biocide solutions to eradicate the mould colonies and completely sanitise the area. Finally, we deployed industrial air scrubbers and structural drying equipment to eliminate residual moisture, ensuring the space was thoroughly decontaminated, dry, and safe for future reconstruction.
